The Rail Museum in Mysore was set up in the year 1979 by the Indian Railways to give a historic perspective of the railway system in India. Railway Museum is opposite to the entrance of CFTRI on KRS Road.

In their outdoor space, they exhibit vintage locomotives and preserved old relics at their gallery.

The most priced possession of the museum is the ‘Maharani’s Saloon’ coach of 1839, which was used by the wife of the erstwhile ruler of the Wadiyar dynasty Maharaja Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.

They have a mini train for those who would like to take a joy ride around the premise.

You can visit the museum anytime between 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM.
